GRC Family Movie Night: Boyne Island
From Our Principal ...
Dear Families,
Too often in our days we tend to look for complex solutions to life’s problems. The following points are a constant reminder that I need to keep things in perspective.
Things To Remember
I find what I look for in people. If I look for God, I find God. If I look for bad qualities, I find them. I, in a sense, select what I expect, and I receive it.
A life without challenges would be like going to school without lessons to learn. Challenges come not to depress or get me down, but to master and to grow and to unfold thereby.
In the Father's wise and loving plan for me, no burden can fall upon me, no emergency can arise, no grief can overtake me, before I am given the grace and strength to meet them.
A rich, full life is not determined by outer circumstances and relationships. These can be contributory to it, but cannot be the source. I am happy or unhappy because of what I think and feel.
I can never lose anything that belongs to me, nor can I possess what is not really mine.
To never run from a problem: either it will chase me, or I will run into another just like it, although it may have a different face or name.
To have no concern for tomorrow. Today is the yesterday over which I had concern.
To never bang on a closed door: Wait for it to open and then go through it.
A person who has come into my life has come either to teach me something, or to learn something from me.
As part of the human condition, there are times when we long for the security and safety of what we know. I love the quote by Helen Keller that “life is a daring adventure or nothing at all”.
‘Challenges are life’s lessons’ or, ‘a smooth sea never makes a skilled mariner’; there are plenty of quotes and sayings. I am a great believer that life is about living and responding to the moment. We are who we are, and we are defined by the way we respond to those around us, especially those closest.
Have a great week and hug your kids.
Regards,
Jamie Emerick
Principal.
Bus Stop & No Parking Zones
We have had a number of phone calls around access to bus stops around our school.
Please be reminded that the bus stop at J Hickey Ave, and the no parking zones immediately in front and behind, must be kept clear at all times.
Bus drivers are on a tight schedule to get to all schools on the afternoon runs. Please be conscious of the road rules and allow these drivers to do their job safely.

Prep 2026 Sibling Enrolments: ENROL NOW

Sacraments of Confirmation and Communion: Enrol by Friday 4 April
Enrolment is open for the Sacraments of Confirmation and Communion. This is organised by the Parish Office located in Herbert St Gladstone.
Children who have received their Sacrament of Baptism and Reconciliation (from Year 3) can apply.
The enrolment form and information letter are below. For your convenience, copies are also available from the front office.
All paperwork and payment must be made directly with the Parish Office. There is a direct debit option, but families MUST refer to the sacrament and record their surname to reduce confusion e.g. CONF Parry or COMM Parry.
The workbooks for Confirmation and Communion can be collected from the Parish Office. No workbooks will be available from the school office.
Enrolments are due back to the Parish Office by Friday 4 April.
Thank you, Lisa O’Brien APRE

Thankyou From St Vincent de Paul
St Vincent de Paul Gladstone would like to thank the parent/s who generously donated $200 to our Christmas appeal last year. This donation allowed St Vincent de Paul to increase the number of Christmas hampers given to families over the Christmas season. St John's continued support is greatly appreciated by St Vinnies.
Celebrating Diversity and Harmony
Today is Harmony Day. The Prep Turtles presented a delightful assembly this morning. They reminded everyone, we all belong to a family at home but also God’s family. God is always reaching out and calling us. God loves us. We are all different and yet we are the same.
Some students wore traditional clothing to celebrate diversity in our school. Bishop Michael, our Director, Mr. McCusker and Assistant Director, Mr. Dale enjoyed the assembly item and the message of love and unity from our brave and clever Preppies.
“And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony”.
Colossians 3:14
