Informer - Term 1 Week 3
Letter From Our Principal
Buidling Update
As of today, Monday 7 February we are excited to announce that we are operating out of our new Administration building. Please be patient as we are still in the process of unpacking!
You will notice we have not yet completed the landscaping around the new buidings; this is due for completion in late March.
To ensure everyone's safety, please only use the paths and keep within the orange baracades.
Thank you.
Enrolments For The Sacraments
Enrolments for the Sacraments of Confirmation and First Holy Communion open on Monday, 7 Feb 2022 and close Monday, 21 Feb 2022. These Sacraments are open to all children in Grade 4 and above who are baptised Catholic and have already completed the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Penance).
If you would like your child to receive these sacraments this year, please collect an information pack and enrolment form from the Parish Centre (10 Herbert St) or through any of the Catholic primary schools, between 7th and 21st February. The information pack will include the dates of events that must be attended in order to receive the sacraments. Please mark these in your calendar.
If your child is in year 4 or above and has not yet made their Sacrament of Reconciliation, there will be an opportunity to do so before the Confirmation/First Communion program begins. Please contact adfaithsos@rok.catholic.net.au as soon as possible for an enrolment form (no later than 4th February).

Parent Lounge
Dear Families
So that we can maintain communication with you, could you please log in to Parent Lounge and update your details: Address, phone number, email address. If there is any change to your family structure, please speak the office staff for amendments to your parent account.
Thank you.
UNIFORMS
Some of our uniform orders have arrived. These will be delivered to your child's classroom tomorrow. If there are any families who have placed orders of polo shirts that haven't arrived and you are needing an interim polo shirt, please email Michelle at stjohnbaptist@wearitto.com.au.
Thank you.
Uniform Expectations
We encourage our families to read through the St John's Uniform Requirements to ensure that your child is school-ready by having the correct uniform from day one (Monday 7 Feb)!
A couple of key reminders:
*Shoes must be plain black leather or leather-look (volleys, casual skate shoes, high-tops, canvas and the like are not appropriate)
*Artificial hair colours, rats tails, undercuts, tracks (including tracks along the part-line) and extreme hairstyles (mohawk, buzz cuts [shorter than gauge 3], mullets or dreadlocks) are unacceptable.
Head to the St John's school app to view the complete St John's Uniform Requirements.

School Calendar
In light of the current COVID situation, many of our scheduled dates and events are currently being reviewed. As soon as we have definite dates we will communicate these to you via the app calendar.
Thank you for your patience.
Mobile Phones and Devices at School
Dear Parents and Caregivers
At St John's we recognise that there are legitimate reasons for students to bring a mobile phone or personal device to school. These may include but not limited to:
~ To ensure their safety while travlling
~ So that parents can contact them outside of school hours.
At school, no student is permitted to use their mobile phones and personal devices during school hours. These devices include any watch or other device that has the potential for internet connectivity or recording images or sounds.
Students must drop their device off to the office for storage at the beginning of the school day. They will not be able to access their device until the end of the school day. Please ensure the device is named and switched off or in silent mode.
Thank you for your understanding.
